Yesterday afternoon I found out, after seeing my primary care physician, and the getting xrays, I have fractured some bones in my left foot. I see a podiatrist Friday morning to get better expectations of what I can and cannnot do in order for it to heal properly. I do not have a cast, I can drive (I take ibuprofen for the pain), and I am icing my foot. a lot. I'm glad that I live on the ground floor and that I don't have a manual transmission in my car. I will learn how to slow down and I will have more patience with other people walking with crutches and canes and walkers. It takes much longer to do everything right now.
obligatory sewing information:
1) HP marrakesh pants are great--the generous fit and wide legs are very wonderful to wear when I have to not jar my foot when getting dressed.
2) I have some skirts, but not any suitable for work. I'll have to go through some patterns and find something in my stash that is suitable. I want to sew some but I can't put weight on my foot, which could make cutting out fabric problematic. Oh well, I have something to wear tomorrow, so I'm not going to worry to much more about things.
Oh dear, Rose! I think of events like that as a message to slow down & rest - may you heal quickly & thoroughly, and ENJOY your down time as much as possible ... healing energy coming your way.... :)
ReplyDeleteYikes, multiple fractures!? Please take it easy and heal!!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your injury. I hope you mend quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh No! I am glad you went to the doctor and found out, tho, instead of toughing it out and having bones heal up wrong. Hoping you are patient enough to live in peace with your crutches and take it easy! (well, you'll have to, anyway) be extra careful on stairs, K?
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the title of your post in my blog roll I said out loud "oh sh*t". I'm really sorry to hear it is fractured but am glad you had the x-rays and the diagnosis! Be patient and kind to yourself. It will all work out ok!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry. Easy does it while healing.
